Baby Monitor

A baby monitor is a useful tool that enables you to monitor your baby even from another room. But there are a lot of things to consider when determining what kind of baby monitor is right for you.

Baby Monitor

A baby monitor enables you to hear your baby when he or she is sleeping and you are in another room. There are different kinds, so here are some things to consider when choosing one:

  1. Decide if you want a one-way monitor or a two-way monitor. With a one-way monitor, you can hear your baby. But with a two-way monitor you can hear your baby and your baby can hear you.
  2. If you want to be able to keep an eye on your baby (as well as an ear) consider a video monitor. This involves a baby camera in the baby's room and a video monitor in whatever room of the house you want. Keep in mind that these do cost more, however.
  3. Since some baby monitors have a limited range, consider the size of your house when choosing your baby monitor. Some won't go through concrete walls, and large homes may need a more sophisticated system.
  4. Realize that some baby monitors have receivers that are portable. Some even clip to your belt or clothing.
  5. Since some monitors are made less effective by cell phones and cordless phones, make sure the one you choose has more than one channel so you can prevent this interference from occurring.

Other things to do to make your baby monitor more effective:

A baby monitor is on of the most basic baby safety products most new moms think of. It gives them the freedom to do other things without worrying if they'll hear the baby wake up or stir. It's one of the most convenient baby safety products on the market today.
