Preschool Safety

More and more parents nowadays are opting to put their children through preschool. Putting your child(ren) through preschool is a great way to get them ready for kindergarten. It is especially important for children who have not received any outside child care before starting kindergarten.

The Benefits of Preschool

If you are a stay-at-home mom, you may be reluctant to send you child off to preschool. You may be concerned about preschool safety, or just uneasy about letting go. Preschool, however, can be very beneficial for your child for a number of reasons:

Socialization: If your child has not mixed much with other children, preschool is a great place for your child to do so. Socialization is a crucial part of every child's development and the sooner they start socializing the better. Additionally, you child may socialize differently when you're not around.
Discipline: Your child will need to get used to being disciplined by people other than you. Just make sure it's discipline you approve of.
Learning: Your child will learn new things at preschool!
Routine: It is important for your child to get used to following a routine. When you child starts kindergarten, he/she will be expected to stick to the school's rules and routine and thus following a routine at preschool will be good preparation.
Transition: Preschool is a great way to transition your child from home/daycare into school. By enrolling your child into preschool, you will be aiding them in this transitional phase.
Part-time hours: Due to work commitments, not all parents can follow a part-time schedule. However, if your child has not attended daycare, part-time preschool hours will not tire your little one out too much, and he/she will still be able to spend lots of time at home with you.

Preschool can be great fun for children and really help them transition into kindergarten smoothly. Of course, preschool safety is a concern for parents and whether your state offers public preschool, or whether you are planning to put your child through a private program, you should do your homework when choosing a preschool.
