Ah, the wonders of having a fresh new baby to smell and hold and love. There is no end to the affection that is poured forth all over new babies. They can do no wrong, even when they are making doody in their own pants! As much as they need affection, they also need their parents to start taking a few infant safety tips to heart and putting them into [practice. It is amazing what kind of trouble a little baby can get themselves into and it is up to us to make sure that we have read enough infant safety tips to keep things smooth and calm.

There are a great many places for all parents to find good resources that provide child safety tips that will help you make your baby's environment as safe as it can be. But, one of the biggest dangers for all infants is choking. About 2800 children and infants die each year from choking related deaths. But, there are many things that we can do to prevent this from happening - all it takes is a bit more diligence with infant safety:

Make sure that your baby is always closely supervised.
Keep small objects away from the baby, even if they are crying for something that they want or that had to be taken away from them. Finding out that we can't always get what we want is a good lesson in life.
When they are old enough and start eating solid food, make sure that they take the time to chew their food throughly.
Children should eat only when seated and eating in a moving car should be avoided.
Cut their food into small pieces as children have a tendency to put too much in their little mouths at one time.
Be careful about giving them certain foods like nuts and hard candies that can easily pose a choking hazard.

The infant safety tip that we have always heard is still very much true and that is that children should not be allowed to play with things like marbles, batteries, coins, or toys that have very small pieces. Put all of these things out of sight and they will also be out of mind, they will have plenty of time in their lives to play with all of things that are now forbidden.
