Check out the classes that are available in your area and get back to your doctor with the information, they will advise you on what you are capable of right now. Generally, if you are a healthy woman who is not having any problems with the pregnancy itself, you will get a green light. Make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins and then add the exercise! It will help to keep you flexible and your muscles nice and toned. Keeping our body strong will make for an easier birth.
One of the main aspects of yoga is the breathing. At most classes, breathing techniques will be the first thing that the instructor will teach you. Breathing techniques will come in very handy during the birth. During birth you will need to have some effective relaxation techniques and those that are taught in yoga will help to relax you and your muscles while there is pain. Learning different methods of relaxation can also be a godsend after the birth. It can be a stressful time for any new mother and we all need good ways to deal with the stress.
Besides all of the benefits that yoga presents to prenatal safety, it is also a great way to meet other mothers that are the same stage of pregnancy. Going through a pregnancy is always more rewarding when you have a kindred spirit to share your experiences with!
