Toddler Safety Devices are Designed to Prevent Accidents and Save Lives

When your baby starts to reach up and grab hold of tables and chairs for balance, that's it, he is on his way to running amok! They begin to explore their surroundings without regard for the inherent dangers. At this stage their body is well ahead of their mind and it is up to us to provide them the protection they need. By placing toddler safety devices in strategic places throughout the house, your little one will have less chances to hurt himself.

Keeping Drawers Shut Tight

Toddlers are a curious lot and eager to explore any space, especially those that have a door or cover to open. No parent can make every drawer completely child safe by removing potentially dangerous contents. There would not be enough space elsewhere to store all of that, and many things tucked into drawers in our homes are used on a daily basis. The solution to this problem is safety latches.

These toddler safety products are indispensable, hooking all drawers shut and making it impossible for your toddler to gain entrance. Most have a hook underneath that needs to be pushed down quite a bit in order to free the drawer. The only problem with this type of latch is that it does allow the child to open the drawer or cabinet slightly and probably enough to pinch his little fingers if he gets them caught. There is another option to ensure toddler safety- magnetic locks. Magnetic locks keep drawers closed all the way and can only be opened with a special key that temporarily deactivates the magnet.

Latches Serve Double-Duty

Once all of your latches are in place and the toddler cannot access any drawer or cabinet that could pose a threat to him, any parent will rest a lot easier. And that's how toddler safety devices are supposed to make parents and caregivers feel. But there is an added bonus to installing latches on drawers and cabinets. They will also protect anyone from getting hurt by the contents within in the event of a disaster such as an earthquake.
